About the Author

Michael Gonzales is a pastor, a teacher, and a graphic designer. Since 2000 he has served in various capacities at Messianic and Non-Denominational churches and ministries in Colorado, Washington, and Texas.

A Timeline of Faith and Service.

  • In 1991, Michael and Margaret Gonzales were married in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • In 1999, the Gonzaleses moved to Denver, Colorado. Shortly thereafter, they leave the Roman Catholic Church.
  • In 2000, the Gonzales family was introduced to Messianic Judaism at The Harvest Messianic Charismatic Congregation in Denver, Colorado, where Michael eventually served as an elder from 2004 to 2009.
  • In 2009, the Gonzaleses planted The Front Range Messianic Community in Arvada, Colorado, where Michael served as an elder and the primary teacher until 2015.
  • In 2012, Michael launched the Messianic Colorado website that hosted a list of Messianic Communities, Synagogues, and Hebrew Roots Congregations in Colorado.
  • In 2015, the Gonzales family relocated to Tacoma, Washington, and joined Beit Hallel Messianic Synagogue, where Michael shared in the responsibility of teaching the children during Shabbat Service.
  • In 2016, Michael joined the staff of TorahResource, a Messianic Teaching Ministry in Tacoma, Washington, led by Tim Hegg.
  • In 2018, Michael left Beit Hallel and joined his friend and colleague Caleb Hegg in starting Alive In Messiah, a Non-Denominational, Torah-Keeping Bible Church in Tacoma, Washington. Here, he served as an elder until 2022.
  • In 2022, Michael moved his family to his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas, where they attended Beth Yeshua Congregation from March to June, during the Spring Festivals. On May 24, Michael launched the Messianic Metroplex website and Facebook page. After visiting Beth Yeshua, the Gonzaleses attended services at HFF led by Brian Serrano in Arlington from July to December.
  • In 2023, Michael held a Bible study in his home on Shabbat in January and February with his family and several like-minded friends. For the rest of the year, on Shabbat and the Moedim, the Gonzaleses either visited Baruch Hashem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas or stayed at home and worshipped. In July, Michael launched the Alive In Messiah podcast.
  • In 2024, Michael held a Bible study at The Edge Coffeehouse in Lake Worth, Texas, that lasted from February to July. The hope was to gain momentum in establishing a Church Plant.
  • In 2025, Michael and his family joined a Messianic Congregation plant in Arlington, Texas, called Ohel Chayim (Tent of Life). This effort, which lasted from March to April, was led by Joey Benami and his wife, Michelle. In May, Michael launched the Law-Abiding Citizen podcast.
  • Until the present, the Gonzaleses continue to worship at home every Shabbat. Michael holds on to the hope of starting a new Messianic Congregation in Fort Worth.
